PUBLIC NOTICE
UPDATE: WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION - ISIPHINGO AND PROSPECTON
The City’s technical team is currently on site, working round the clock to complete the tie-in project that will restore water supply to areas served by reservoirs fed from the Isiphingo Hills Reservoir.
Work began today at 6:00 AM, involving the connection of a new 400mm steel pipeline along Prospecton Road to the existing pipelines at The Avenue East, Canal Bridge, and Joyner Road.
As a result, water supply is temporarily interrupted in areas served by these reservoirs.
Significant progress has been made, particularly at The Avenue East, where the team is on track to successfully install the valve by this afternoon.
Once this milestone is achieved, the City will begin restoring water supply to the Isiphingo Beach Reservoir, which will return service to parts of the Prospecton Industrial area while work on the remaining connections continues.
All operations remain on schedule, with the full scope of work expected to be completed by tomorrow, 22 March at 6:00 AM, as previously communicated.
Affected areas:
Prospecton Industrial, Isiphingo Beach, Orient Hills, Athlone Park, Galleria Mall, Arbour Crossing, and Kingsway Hospital.
