PLANNED WATER SUPPLY REDUCTION ON THE SOUTHERN AQUEDUCT
Residents and businesses are advised of a planned reduction in bulk water supply on the Southern Aqueduct from Wednesday, 12 August at 08h00 to Friday, 14 August at 08h00.
The City's Water Operations Department will shut down the existing 1 200mm pre-stressed concrete pipeline to allow contractors to carry out sectional repair work in preparation for the new Southern Aqueduct Pipeline Upgrade Project.
The existing 1 200mm steel pipeline will remain operational and will continue supplying water to the western, central and southern regions.
The sectional repair work will take place at the intersection of Perth Road and Hi Wycombe Road in Westville.
The City will closely monitor reservoir storage levels throughout the shutdown. Depending on water demand and reservoir levels, reservoir outlets may be temporarily closed to preserve available storage and reduce recovery times once bulk supply is restored.

Ridley Park Reservoir:
Coedmore, Farningham Ridge, Hillary, Malvern, Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, Queensburgh, Umbilo, Umhlathuzana and Umkhumbane.
Chatsworth 1 Reservoir:
